Human blood with trypanosomes - 1000x
Slide of human blood seen at 1000x magnification. Red circles are red blood cells. Two trypanosome parasites (Trypanosoma cruzi) are visible in the top half of the image (purple-stained organisms that look like small worms). The distinct purple dot is most likley the kinetoplast. These parasites cause Chagas disease, trypanosomiasis.
