Human blood with trypanosomes - 1000x
Slide of human blood seen at 1000x magnification. Red circles are red blood cells. A trypanosome parasite (Trypanosoma cruzi) is visible in the upper-left of the image (purple-stained organism that looks like a small worm). The distinct purple dot is most likley the kinetoplast. These parasites cause Chagas disease, trypanosomiasis.
