Ariocarpus fissuratus top view: everything in focus
A top-down view of both the flower and leaves of _Ariocarpus fissuratus_; in order to get everything in focus and maintain sharpness I blended more than a dozen exposures to form this one image. _Ariocarpus fissuratus_ is a small, slow-growing succulent plant native to Northern Mexico. It flowers only in the fall, in response to shortening daylength. This specimen, photographed at the Orange Coast College Horticulture Department, is more than 20 years old.
